Voice and microphone The microphone records your spoken chess command while you hold the microphone button. Speech recognition runs on your device. The app does not upload your voice recordings to a speech recognition service. Temporary audio files are deleted after processing or cancellation; remaining temporary recordings are cleaned up on startup.
Model download The first use of voice recognition requires downloading a speech model from Hugging Face / Argmax distribution infrastructure. These providers receive the network information needed to deliver the download, including your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply to their services. Once the model is downloaded and prepared, speech recognition and chess gameplay can work offline.
Data on your device The app stores settings, the current game, archived games and a bounded diagnostic journal locally. The journal can include recognized speech, chess positions and moves, errors, timing and device/audio information. Old journal files are rotated. Diagnostics are excluded from device backup; other app data may be included in backups managed by your operating system.
Sharing and support Diagnostics are not automatically sent to the developer. Tapping a non-button area five times opens the diagnostic export flow. You choose whether and where to share the file using the system share sheet. An exported journal may contain recognized speech and game history; review it before sharing.
If you email support or choose to send a journal, the developer receives the information you send and uses it to respond and troubleshoot. Email is handled by the support email provider. Contact the address above to request deletion of support correspondence or submitted diagnostics, subject to applicable retention obligations.
